The opening of Idencity at the Roca London Gallery
The LSA Design Think Tanks exhibition, Idencity, opened with a Live Design Pitch to a packed audience on 6 June. More than 160 people gathered at the Roca London Gallery to hear First Years and Design Think Tank leaders present their ideas to change the identity of London.
Compered by BBC broadcaster Robert Elms, a panel of ‘dragons’ – Amanda Baillieu (Archiboo), Levent Kerimol (Community-led Housing), Hannah Peaker (Women’s Equality Party) and Ben Plowden (TfL) – gave their responses.
Arranged within Zaha Hadid’s curvaceous white gallery, the exhibition consists of interactive models, films, drawings and installations, displayed on bright-coloured plinths designed by Studio Mathias Clottu. The six Design Think Tanks conducted research earlier this year into pressing issues facing London, under the direction of LSA Director of Inter-Practice Deborah Saunt.
