In April 2026, London School of Architecture MArch students embarked on the inaugural field trip to Belgium. This is a landmark moment for the school, now as part of the University of the Built Environment.
We spent four days exploring the cities of Brussels and Ghent, with a packed itinerary of site visits supported by organisations and practitioners in both cities. Thank you to those who welcomed us into their spaces and provided tours for our students.

PARTS-ROSAS-ICTUS, with thanks to Wieter Bloemen
House Van Hee, led and arranged by Sam De Vocht, with huge thanks to Duncan Blackmore (Arrant Land) for organising
Maison Cauchie, guided by Virginie Litzler and Georges Van hoorickx
BC Materials, with thanks to Farah Fervel and Lisa Colinet
The programme also included walking tours led by the LSA’s Head of School Professor Lee Ivett, Head of Part 2 Programme Dr Ruth Lang, and Design Think Tank Module Leader Dr Nicola Antaki.
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported the trip and made it such a positive experience for our students as they approach the end of their two-year studies with us. This is the start of a brilliant annual tradition we are now able to offer LSA MArch students, facilitated and supported by the University of the Built Environment.
