Painting ‘Regional Breakfast’ by Will Alsop RA is the top reward of our LSA Bursary appeal
On 16 June, the First Years of the London School of Architecture launch an urgent crowd-fund appeal to offer hardship bursaries to LSA students in acute financial need.
Over six weeks, the students seek to raise £50,000 to support those in the most financial need. Your donation – whether it is £1 or £5,000 – will make a vital contribution, and will be rewarded with a wonderful limited edition artworks from Will Alsop, Nigel Coates, Assemble, Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, Cullinan Studio, Farshid Moussavi and Alvaro Siza.
We will distribute the funds as bursaries of between £5,000 and £10,000. The poorest university students can borrow £10,000 from the state for living costs; however, because we are a new school, our students currently can’t do this. A number of our cohort are genuinely extremely concerned about being able to fund their second year and may have to defer or drop out altogether. The bursaries would support the poorest of them and enable them to complete their studies – which they really want to do!
The LSA is a registered charity (no. 1159927), so all donations are tax deductible, and you can elect to increase your donation with Gift Aid. Thank you for your support!
