Nigel Coates: Liberating the Plan
We are excited to announce that the inaugural LSA Ecstacity Lecture will be delivered by Nigel Coates, educator and architect.
The Lecture ‘Nigel Coates: Liberating the Plan’, will take place on Monday 13 March at the Design Museum, and is open to all LSA students and all members of the LSA Practice Network.
Over his long career trajectory Coates has conceived architecture in three dimensions. The 3D helps foreground experience and choreograph the flow through a building. But where does that leave the plan, and its own role in crafting space? In this talk, he will re-examine some of the plans behind his own projects, and compare these with some key case studies in London – from the overtly colonial or powerful, to the downright deceptive.
The lecture will conclude with a Q&A session, led by LSA Head of School Neal Shasore.
The LSA Ecstacity Lecture Series is kindly supported by Davina Mallinckrodt and The Design Museum.
Tickets are available here.
