Cameron Lintott awarded Venice Fellowship

First year student Cameron Lintott has been awarded a Venice Fellowship by the British Council. He will join a group of around 50 architecture and humanities students who will each spend a month in Venice during the Architecture Biennale this year.

Venice Fellows divide their time in Venice between stewarding the British Pavilion and pursuing an independent research project relating to the overall theme of the Biennale, Freespace. The LSA’s participation in the scheme is thanks to the generous support from the Drake Trust , which supports education and training in building conservation.

Titled Point, Lines and Planes, Cameron’s proposal will catalogue details of modern and contemporary interventions in three historic buildings in Venice using drawing, photography and narrative audio recordings.

The 2018 Venice Architecture Biennale runs from 26 May to 25 November and is curated by Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara of Grafton Architects. Caruso St John and Marcus Taylor will curate the British Pavilion exhibition, Island, which will consist of a temporary platform raised above the building where performances will take place and visitors will get spectacular views across the lagoon.
