  • Deadline – 11 October 2021 (11.59pm)

Background

The London School of Architecture is an independent higher education provider registered through the Charity Commission as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).

We currently offer a single academic programme: a two-year postgraduate Masters in Designing Architecture. The programme is validated by Liverpool University, supported by a Practice Network of over 150 London-based architecture firms, and is fully recognised by the professional bodies – the Architects Registrations Board and the Royal Institute of British Architects.

In 2021/22 – our seventh academic year since we opened – we have recruited our largest ever cohort of 75 students, taking the combined total for both years to 130. We are looking to produce and disseminate content to our student, professional and public audiences consistently to the highest possible production standards, in line with our brand and reputation. We see lectures and talks recorded at broadcast quality as a critical part of the student experience and indeed for our wider network and community.

You will be:

  • dynamic and creative in finding effective tech solutions to our digital needs ;
  • an effective trouble-shooter who can show initiative and problem-solve; and
  • committed to high-quality A/V production, with a keen eye for design.

Roles and Responsibilities

As a member of the Operations Team, you will be responsible for providing all meetings and teaching interactions with appropriate AV support, including moving and reconfiguring audiovisual equipment and furniture for different events, as well as building up internal team capacity through training. You will also maintain our internal library/database of recordings and AV teaching materials. This will include:

  • Lectures/Talks – pre-recorded and live delivery
  • Tutorials/Tutor Groups – hybrid meetings with some faculty/students attending remotely
  • Reviews/Pin-Ups – managing guest critics who may appear remotely, ensuring effective display of student work
  • Professional/Public Events – high-quality broadcasts for our ambitious programme streams
  • Meetings – smooth running of meetings for the school’s work and operations to be carried out

You will help to fit out our new studio with the necessary equipment to deliver a high-quality architectural education. There may also be scope to work with our students on developing A/V content to display their work in a professional setting.

You will work closely with the Studio Manager, Programme Coordinator, Network Coordinator and you will be line-managed by the Head of School.

You will also be responsible for day-to-day technical and IT support, troubleshooting for digital platforms and services for our Operations Team. You will also be able to identify areas for development and improvement, working closely with the Head of School and Academic Director on developing an innovative blended learning offer.

Person Specification

It is essential that you have the following:

  • Basics in Adobe Creative Cloud applications in particular InDesign
  • Sound knowledge of digital tools and products in particular Trello, Notion, Slack and Google Workspace
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills working with people at all levels
  • The ability to use initiative, multi-task and work as part of a team
