Paolo was born in Como, Italy, and studied architecture in Milan, Helsinki and London, gaining a Diploma from Kingston University. Subsequently, he was awarded a Postgraduate Research Masters from the Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio.
Previously, Paolo worked for construction company while also teaching at the Politecnico di Milano and running a small design practice, gaining a great deal of experience on all sides of the profession.
Paolo is an associate principal at Grimshaw, where he has been leading projects in the UK, China, Albania, France and Italy, focusing on mixed-use development and large urban intervention. Paolo is currently in charge of the practice’s development of a large urban renewal masterplan for the City of Tirana in Albania, an office building in Cambridge and a housing research project shortlisted for the Housing London NLA competition.
In 2015/16, Paolo co-led the Design Think Tank Unstable City. In 2015/16 he is one of the Second Year Design Tutors.
