The London School of Architecture is looking for a Professional Events Co-Ordinator to join its exciting team. 

Job overview

We are seeking a Professional Events Co-Ordinator who will be responsible for planning, producing and delivering an extensive programme of high-quality events for our Practice Network of nearly 200 of London’s leading practices and industry partners. You might be a freelance journalist, curator, a recent graduate in architecture (or related disciplines), or a practitioner – we are looking for energy, ideas, and a strong attention to detail. A temporary role for 4 months to begin with, this could become a permanent position in due course.

As Professional Events Co-Ordinator you will work closely with the Chief Executive and Engagement Manager to deliver multiple strands of dynamic and innovative programming aligning with the school’s core ideals and driving forward issues surrounding contemporary architectural practice in the UK.

The role will include delivering digital, in-person and hybrid events at varying scales, both on site at the LSA’s location in Hackney and other offsite locations. You must be rigorous, methodical and imaginative in managing the programme delivery processes in order to deliver events on-time, on-budget and to a high quality. You will be able to build positive relations with key stakeholders related to our programme, alongside providing professional and high-quality communication skills with our speakers, members and other audiences.

£175-200/day, up to 3 days a week

Reports to: Chief Executive


Key responsibilities

Project management

  • Co-ordinate and manage the delivery of all events for the Professional Programme (40-50) to ensure they are delivered smoothly and to a high-standard
  • Manage speaker and partner relationships
  • Manage a budget
  • Manage processes to ensure monitoring and evaluation of data relating to the success of the programmes
  • Write event copy and preparing event pages
  • Provide good customer service and respond to audience enquiries

Key working relationships

  • Work closely with Head of School to put together programmes of activity that align with current issues relating to the built environment sector and the school’s core ideals
  • Work closely with the Engagement Manager to ensure programmes align with our membership offer and members’ interests
  • Co-ordinate all digital event activity with the Technical Co-ordinator to ensure smooth running of digital and hybrid events
  • Co-ordinate with Content Editor on aligning event content with our digital and communication editorial strategy
  • Support Marketing and Communications Co-Ordinator to ensure effective online promotion of our events programme

Person specification


  • A good knowledge of architectural discourse, practice and professionalism and a sound understanding about the stages of practical delivery of buildings
  • Experience planning and delivering programmes and events
  • A strong interest in the ways in which the built environment sector can contribute to civic engagement
  • Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to confidently communicate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, both in-person and online
  • Pro-active and able to work independently and lead on your own area of activity
  • Excellent written communication skills with an ability to adjust writing for different platforms and audiences
  • Strong IT skills including Office based packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign and Photoshop)


  • Good knowledge of current cultural issues and contemporary design practitioners
  • Experience with digital event and/or content production
  • Experience delivering programmes and/or content that brings together multiple disciplines
  • Experience working in other membership organisations or higher education institutions/providers
