City as Campus: The Furniture Practice

Join LSA at The Furniture Practice, for an engaging and informative evening, exploring the climate impact of traditional materials and also of some new innovative sustainable materials that have recently been developed.  We will be discussing how important materiality is in the carbon footprint of products, and how the carbon footprint is calculated.

We will also discuss upcoming sustainability legalisation and the likely impacts of such legislation on construction and fit-out projects. In addition, we will touch on how the architecture and design community is collaborating to share knowledge and best practices for creating a more sustainable future.

Drinks and nibbles provided.

Schedule

6.30pm // Welcome guests into the studio

7pm // Introduction from Matt Davies – TFP Director of Sustainability

7.10 – 7.40pm // Talk by Alex Webb and Matt Davies – TFP

A presentation to engage with members of the LSA Practice Network and the wider built-environment sector to explore ways in which the design community can collaborate to aggregate, measure and benchmark climate impact through new technological advances.

7.40 – 8pm // Questions from the audience

8.00 – 9.00pm // Materials Lab presentation and networking

A showcase of innovative and sustainable materials for design and interiors. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the unique properties and potential applications of over 30 innovative new materials for design and interiors.

Whether you’re a student, interior designer, architect, sustainability advocate, or simply curious about sustainable materials, this event is a must-attend for anyone seeking to deepen their understanding of material innovations and explore how the industry is collaborating to build a more sustainable future.

We look forward to welcoming you to an evening of sustainability, creativity, and collaboration at The Furniture Practice. Register for a free ticket here
